I understand that politics works this way - still it is disheartening to see the outright lies and distortions told by the Repubs as they watch the plan from the President of THEIR party fail to win enough House votes. How can they blame the Dems with a straight face? All the Dems who voted yes did so at their political peril but for the right reason - their belief, right or wrong, that SOMEONE has to clean up after the messes of the George, Dick, John McSame and all their deregulation-happy friends.
But it is the way of this campaign season, more than any other, it seems to me, that just going out in front of the media and saying any old lie really does make it so - to some listeners. I just hope that it isn't enough to make a difference on November 4.
Sounds like you had some interesting encounters or observations at the airport this past weekend, Fair. A brush with greatness (or, at least, notoriety) is always cool!
