This and That

It's been so long since the last post, I just wanted to put up a few thoughts. . .

- Detroit: Hopefully we now begin a new era, with Kwame leaving officially at 12:01 am this morning. What I'm reading in the Freep and the DetPress looks hopeful; I'll keep my fingers crossed!

- Obama/Biden v. McCain/Palin: The pundits say the Palin bump is dwindling! Hooray! But they still fault Obama for being too cool and Harvard Law Professor-ish. But, I feel a little better about prospects - unfortunately, McCain could still very well win and if so, I can't imagine how bad I'm going to feel - migraines, sleeplessness, depression - I expect the whole lot. HOPE not (and I finally put the non-traditional Obama bumper sticker on the Grand Am's bumper!)

- Michigan Transportation Budget: Oooh, those nasty Repubs are at it again - holding up the entire MDOT budget over the next Detroit River bridge. As per past standoffs, this may go right down to the wire - October 1 - and beyond! This will be a big hurt on our personal budget!
